The Dutch transport association "ANWB" has recognised our Activa One 650 HS named Camper of the Year 2021. The election for "Camper of the Year 2021" takes place once a year and the winner was announced on Wednesday 14 October 2020. The award recognises the most striking and innovative layout of a caravan or motorhome. The jury consists of experienced experts from the industry with a good overview of the market.

In the combination of the Contura series, which was introduced for the 2020 season, and the Mercedes Sprinter chassis, Eura Mobil is now also demonstrating its ambitions for the mobile luxury classes. With the use of the three different variants with a connection to the AL-KO chassis, the Sprendlingen-based manufacturer has developed a chassis configuration with an optimal vehicle situation and a particularly compact and comfortable cab.

With this new design, Contura has also made a strong commitment to exclusivity at Mercedes, and this has been reflected in the moulding with striking lines and a flat finish with a body shell and modern GRP bodywork. With an obsidian paint colour and the unique design in carbon look (ekstrautstyr) on the modern GRP bodywork, Mercedes Contura stands out even among some premium-integrated models. By choosing the front-wheel drive version with a connection to the AL-KO low-frame chassis, the Sprendling-based manufacturer opted for a chassis constellation with an optimum weight situation and particularly precise and comfortable driving behaviour.

Even the exterior design of the Contura on Mercedes embodies its exclusive claim, which is particularly evident in the design with striking light edges and a flat connection between the cab and the modern GRP body. With the optional obsidian black paint finish and the carbon-fibre-look exterior graphics on the modern GRP body, the Mercedes Contura steals the show even from some premium integrated models. The Mercedes variant also benefits from the numerous optional assistance system options, such as Traffic Sign Assist, Distronic Distance Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist and High Beam Assist. The voice-controlled MBUX multimedia system emphasises the comfort-oriented equipment of the base vehicle. With the use of pilot seats with seat heating, lumbar support and electric height adjustment, Eura Mobil sets its own standards in long-distance comfort not only in the body, but also in the cab. Attractive equipment packages provide a wide range of options for further comfort options.

The Sprendling-based manufacturer has also gone beyond a standard solution in the transition to the body. The covers for the roof cut-out mould themselves particularly precisely to the cab geometry, creating an exceptionally wide and comfortable passageway with plenty of headroom. With its spectacular view of the starry sky, the two-part Starlight Dome panoramic glass roof used exclusively by Eura Mobil enhances this feeling of freedom even further. There are also tangible functional benefits: thanks to the Smart-Lift and Soft-Close function, the tilt-and-lift roof can be raised and lowered with two fingers without any cranking - and also offers a 20% larger roof cut-out than a conventional tilt-and-lift roof for even more light and air in the interior.

Upper cabinets, which extend seamlessly from the body into the cab, complete the visual unity of chassis and body.

Once in the living area, travellers benefit from the furniture architecture of the Contura models developed exclusively for the luxury class. An elegant feel-good ambience thanks to high-quality materials and first-class workmanship form the basis for travelling in style. High-gloss wall units in a fine wood look with wide chrome inlays demonstrate the Contura's luxury-class aspirations at first glance. Lush use of chrome elements can also be found in the base units, the bed panelling on the rear wall and in many other details. The otherwise matt surfaces of the carcase and the light cream-coloured worktops, side panels and wall units provide a visually appealing contrast.

Depending on the layout, two luxurious lengthways sofas or a classic L-shaped seating area with fluffy cushions instead of classic back cushions dominate the lounge character of the Contura in the interior. In the kitchen, travellers can enjoy an ergonomically curved kitchen block with a large refrigerator and the swivelling spring-arm tap. The glass cabinet in the wall unit is a stylish and practical detail.

The washroom is characterised by the lighting mood of the backlit shower column, which, like the bathroom door, is decorated with a floral graphic. The feel-good ambience is also the central starting point for the design in the sleeping area. The elegant rear wall panelling with indirectly illuminated chrome elements and the wall units, which are concave towards the centre of the vehicle, merge into flat, illuminated canopies on the ceiling, which extend through to the connecting door. Depending on the layout, the sleeping areas offer either two large single beds up to 2.00 metres long (Contura 716 EB and 766 EB or 766 EF) or a height-adjustable, spacious central bed for first-class sleeping comfort (Contura 766 QB). Under the beds, garages up to 1.24 metres high provide plenty of storage space.

The double floor, typical of Eura Mobil and heated by an Alde hot water heating system in the Contura, houses all technical installations in the frost-proof basement of the mobile home and offers additional storage options accessible from the interior. A central technical compartment allows access to water drain taps and the central electrical distribution board from the outside. The optional waste water tank emptying system, which can be operated at the touch of a button from the driver's seat via monitor control and camera guidance, optimises ease of use. New to the Eura Mobil double floor concept are the additional, lowered floor and side storage compartments with a height of 30 cm.

The top-class standard is also reflected in the ten-year guarantee for body watertightness and the three-year guarantee for the furniture construction. The backbone for this is the modern structure made of bonded GRP composite material with wood-free walls and a robust furniture construction with aluminium profile reinforcements.
