Eura Mobil IL 650 HS: a compact and daring integrated model

The Integra Line 650 HS, which was launched this year as part of the new 2020 collection, is unique. With a length of just 6.50 metres, it dispenses with a fixed bed and instead focuses on a majestic U-shaped living area in the rear. This makes it possible to combine compactness and hospitality without forgetting the high technical standard that characterises Eura Mobil. From € 77,500.

The German manufacturer has a nice answer for those who complain about the excessive standardisation of motorhome equipment. While the integrated models, the top class of our motorhomes, are usually equated with high-end, XL size and comfortable living space equipment, the Integra Line 650 HS is a different story. There are no exaggerations on board: neither an ever wider centre bed nor an ever longer living area with seating groups facing each other.

What a living area!
The brand from Germany has an open ear for motorhome enthusiasts who are looking for a high level of performance but want to return to a more reasonably sized vehicle for reasons of practicality or discretion. So what is it? Cramped conditions so that everything fits into a small vehicle? Certainly not. Eura Mobil focuses on the living area, the place for relaxation and socialising par excellence.

The new Contura: the new top class now nails its colours to the mast in the semi-integrated range too

Luxurious semi-integrated model ● Dynamic, striking design ● Exclusive detailed solutions ● High-quality equipment for travel at any time of year ● From the start 10-year no-leak guarantee

With the new Contura Eura Mobil is nailing its colours to the mast in the semi-integrated sector from the 2020 season onwards. On the background of its newly developed strength in the semi-integrated range, the manufacturer from Sprendlingen is now targeting specialist, discerning clientele among those interested in the compact superstructure design.

In terms of automotive design with its striking light edges and flat connection between the driver’s cab and the modern GPR superstructure, the Contura is testimony to the exclusive approach of its designers.

The Contura coupled to an ALKO low-slung frame chassis creates a particularly torsion-resistant, resilient superstructure which, with its hot water heating and storage space-optimising double floor, creates the perfect conditions for journeys of any length at any time of year. Careful details are visible not just on the exterior, but also on the interior: the visually fluid transition of the wall units from the living room into the driver’s cab is accompanied on the ceiling by a two-part panoramic glass roof that is exclusive to Eura Mobil. The front element is integrated into the roof connection in the driver’s cab as a fixed glass roof, while the second roof window is designed as a pop-up roof with 20% more area than conventional tilting roofs, ensuring plenty of fresh air and a daylight atmosphere in the front of the cab. The large, two-part roof window creates a particularly fascinating effect in the evening under a starry sky, or in a morning at sunrise. The feeling of upwards open space creates its very own, unsurpassed generous charm.

The living room in the Contura is also characterised by the ideal combination of an atmospheric, feel-good ambience and highly practical properties. In terms of furniture and features, the Contura is modelled on the luxury integrated Integra which was unveiled in 2017. Eura Mobil is shifting its emphasis onto light. In the interests of active safety, the Contura already comes with LED lighting technology as standard in the daytime running light and in the tail lights. In the tail lights, Eura Mobil uses dynamic LED indicators. A twin-eye camera in the rear, which, in addition to its classical function as a reversing tool, also serves as a device for monitoring the area behind the vehicle, further enhancing the safety equipment. The lights are also used as a style feature for the vehicle’s design: a three-dimensionally curved rear panel with black diffuser element at frame height and a broad chrome bar between the large LED lights are characteristic of the new, top model’s elaborate design. One of the development goals for the interior was lighting that is as efficient as it is stylish. Flat ceiling lights in the centre of the vehicle and in the ceiling canopies on the wall units brighten the interior with a glorious abundance of functional lighting. The kitchen surfaces and worktop are also illuminated. Even the wall units are indirectly illuminated inside thanks to concealed milling grooves. The crucial element, however, is the variety of ambient lighting elements. The dimmable ambient lighting encompasses not only the wall unit lights, but also decorative elements such as the glass splashback in the kitchen or the lighting strips on the ceiling. The bedroom lighting is a real head-turner too: the light emanating from the numerous chrome bars on the back wall reflects the glow in a myriad of different ways, bathing the bed in a stylish, glittering shower of light. When the sliding door between the kitchen and bathroom is closed, a contact switch illuminates the acrylic glass panel with a floral light graphic, creating effective wall lighting instead of simply partitioning the two rooms. At the front of the vehicle, the enclosure of the large panoramic glass roof is also included in the ambient lighting system. Even tiny details such as the illuminated climb-in handle are integrated into the lighting concept.

The new Contura benefits from a furniture architecture that has been developed exclusively for the luxury class. A real feel-good atmosphere thanks to high-quality materials and first-class workmanship create the basis for travelling in style. Glossy wall units with high-grade wood appearances and broad chrome inlays testify even at first glance to the Contura’s premium-class aspirations. A lavish abundance of chrome elements can also be found in the base units, the bed panels on the back wall and in a host of other details. The otherwise matt surfaces of the furniture, as well as the work surfaces, furniture side panels and wall elements which are designed in light cream shades, stand in visually appealing contrast.

The living room is dominated, depending on the floor plan, by two luxurious longitudinal sofas or a classic L-shaped seating group with fleecy cushions instead of the classic back upholstery featuring the Contura’s lounge character. A heated windscreen and sound system are both among the other upgrade options.

In the kitchen, travellers can delight in an ergonomically curved kitchen block with large refrigerator, the surface-mounted hob with glass cover, swivel spring-arm tap and many illuminated storage cabinets. The glass display cabinet in the wall unit is a stylish and practical detail.

The washroom is influenced by the lighting provided by the back-lit shower column which, like the bathroom door, provides a relaxing ambience with its illuminated floral motif. The feel-good ambience is also a central element of the design in the sleeping area. The sophisticated back wall panel with indirectly illuminated chrome elements and, towards the centre of the vehicle, concave-shaped wall units, extend up to the ceiling to form flat, illuminated canopies, which continue up to the connecting door. Depending on the floor plan chosen, the bedrooms offer either two large single beds up to 2 metres in length, or one generous central bed for first-class sleeping comfort on massage mattresses. Under the beds, storage areas up to 1.24 m in height provide an abundance of storage space.

The heated double floor, which spans the entire vehicle – a feature typical for Eura Mobil – conceals all of the technical installations in the vehicle’s frost-protected cellar and offers further storage facilities that are accessible from the interior. A central technology compartment allows access to the water outlet tap and central electrical distributor from the outside. The waste water tank draining function with monitor control and camera guidance can be actuated at the press of a button from the driver’s seat: an optional feature that optimises user comfort. A new feature of Eura Mobil’s double floor concept is the additional, lowered floor and side storage compartments that are 30 cm tall.

The top class approach is also demonstrated by the ten-year guarantee against leaks in the superstructure and the three-year guarantee for the furniture construction. A modern construction, made of glued GRP composite material with wood-free walls and a robust furniture construction with aluminium profile reinforcements, is the backbone for this.

Integra Line 650 HS: compact and comfortable integrated model with generous space

Entry to the 6.5-metre class ● Spacious rear seating group ● Heated double floor with plenty of storage space ● Roomy kitchen with 140-litre refrigerator ● Third and fourth seats in the rear without impacting on the available storage space ● 10-year no-leak guarantee

To celebrate its 60-year anniversary, Eura Mobil is moving into the compact 6.5-metre class with its integrated models. The new Integra Line 650 HS impresses with its spaciousness. Even as soon as you enter it, the IL 650 HS creates a wonderful impression of room with its open viewing axis. The facts confirm it: Two longitudinal benches measuring 2.20 m and 1.43 m are grouped around the 2.17-metre-wide lateral bench in the rear, creating space for a cosy get-together of up to 5 people. Below it is storage space for luggage and camping furniture in the heated double floor. A unique feature for the industry is the belt frame anchoring in aluminium profiles on the inside walls. This ensures that the storage volume below the benches remains fully available, even when a third and fourth seat are installed. Two large storage space flaps give passengers optimum access to their luggage from either side at all times.

In front of the rear seating group is an ergonomically curved kitchen block with ceiling-height, 140-litre-capacity refrigerator on the opposite side. In the centre of the vehicle is a modern, 114-centimetre-long washroom with swivel wash basin and integrated shower cubicle. The extra-wide, lowerable lift-up bed ends on the driver side at an additional half-height wardrobe that features a folding table top.

All Integra Line series also meet the requirements of the winter resistance standard EN 1646-1 with the aid of the heated double floor. Walking barefoot in winter quickly becomes a habit in the Integra Line.

Eura Mobil’s premium claim is backed up by a ten-year guarantee for leak-proof construction and a three-year guarantee for furniture construction. A modern construction, made of glued GRP composite material with wood-free walls and a robust furniture construction with aluminium profile reinforcements, is the backbone for this.

Integra 760 HS: Luxury lounge in the rear

Spacious rear seating group with fireside shelf ● Kitchen like at home ● Fantastically spacious feel ● Bathroom with passageway to the driver’s cab ● Lots of storage in the double floor ● 10-year no-leak guarantee

Eura Mobil is opening up a “modern revival chapter” in the top class to mark its anniversary year. The rear seating group is back. However, the luxurious lounge of today has nothing in common with the original version from the first Integra in 1999, other than its position. Plush, 2-metre sofas with lavish, richly contoured upholstery and comfortable back cushions surround the large, two-pedestal table with folding table top. Eura Mobil can even install a wall shelf with LCD fireplace upon request, to create an atmospheric, sociable mood of an evening.

The adjacent 1.5-metre kitchen is just like at home: plenty of freedom of movement, a refrigerator tower with a 160-litre capacity and first-class fittings are perfectly capable of satisfying even professional demands. The Integra also scores points with its oven, lift for the espresso machine, worktop-mounted hob with fine glass plate and the lowerable stainless steel fittings on the sink. The worktop, made from high-quality mineral material, is mounted at a 90-degree angle to the seating group, so that even after mealtime is over, there’s nothing to interrupt the direct flow of face-to-face conversation.

The fantastic spaciousness is created not least by the unconventional arrangement of the bathroom in the front of the cabin. From the central entrance, it creates an open, over 4-metre-long viewing axis through to the rear. The bathroom with passageway through to the driver’s cab has two sliding doors, creating an additional visibility and warm air lock to the front. A total of three wardrobes round off the comfort features.

The 20-centimetre-high double floor, the Integra’s cellar, offers a familiarly generous amount of space. Multiple in-floor storage compartments and a 1-metre-wide, end-to-end storage space in the rear can accommodate luggage and camping furniture.

All Integra series also meet the requirements of the winter resistance standard EN 1646-1 with the aid of the heated double floor.

Profila RS 720 QF: optimum comfort in all travelling conditions

Beds, seats and kitchen with variable usage options ● Elegantly curved kitchen with pull-out worktop ● Opposite sofas with integrated three-point seat belts ● New equipment ● Elegant interior ● 10-year guarantee

The new Integra Line 720 QF offers passengers a generous feeling of space and a wide range of utilisation options.

It owes this feature to a large, curved kitchen with plenty of room to move and a living area with two sofas facing each other. In the entrance area, the sense of space is impressive thanks to the ergonomic design of the kitchen. This is designed for versatile use: When required, the tap disappears under the worktop, which can also serve as an additional storage surface when open.

At the same time, the kitchen surprises with its overall width of 120 cm. High-quality materials such as the solid surface worktop, the beautiful ambient lighting and the elegant surface finish are evidence of Eura Mobil's commitment to the highest quality.

The living area is also flexible in terms of use: the sofas opposite are equipped with three-point seat belts that can be folded down in the direction of travel for two passengers. Spacious and multifunctional living area with folding table.

The kitchen adjoins the bathroom with sliding door and well-lit shower and offers a view of a 150 cm wide bed in the centre. A hydraulic system makes it possible to vary the height of the storage space under the bed, which can be up to 115 cm high. Travellers can choose between particularly comfortable access to the low bed or maximum storage space under the bed.

In combination with the flush-mounted drop-down bed, the Profila RS offers a completely different range of sleeping options (for 2 to 4 people). The standard equipment also includes special comfort features such as an electrically operated drain valve for the waste water tank and an Alde hot water heater. In addition, the grey water tank is located in an insulated and heated double floor, which prevents frost in winter. New windows that are flush with the bodywork add even more value to the Profila RS models.

The elegance of the luxurious components is particularly evident in the interior: chrome accents also adorn the doors of the wall cabinets, which are available in an elegant, glossy design made of fine wood or in a natural chalet style. The upholstered seats of the sofas and the high-quality driver's seat, in combination with the fabric panelling on the walls, lend the room a touch of luxury and sophistication. Eura Mobil demonstrates its high-quality image in terms of reliability and durability, which is emphasised by the ten-year guarantee against leaks and the three-year guarantee on the furniture.

This offer is based on a modern construction made of fibreglass-based composite material with wood-free walls and a robust furniture construction with reinforcements made of aluminium profiles. The typical heated double floor is also a great advantage for winter camping.

Large kitchens with 140 litre fridges and washrooms with integrated shower cubicles make even longer journeys a pleasure. Well thought-out details such as the rotating anti-drip tap outlet, the towel rails or the sturdy pull-outs in the kitchen are proof of the many years of experience in building family motorhomes.

With the help of the heated double floor and frost-proof water tanks, the alcoves in the Activa One range also fulfil the requirements of the winter-proof standard EN 1646-1. These outstanding winter properties have made the alcoves from Eura Mobil the first choice of winter campers for many years.

Even in the entry-level range from Eura Mobil, the same quality parameters apply as in the higher-positioned ranges. A ten-year guarantee for body leak tightness and a three-year guarantee for furniture construction reflect Eura Mobil's premium ambitions. The basis for this is the modern body made of bonded GRP composite material with wood-free walls.

Who owns the oldest, still roadworthy Eura-Mobil vehicle?

Eura Mobil is celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2019. For the anniversary, Eura Mobil is looking for historic and still roadworthy or towable leisure vehicles from its own production.

Eura Mobil shows particular interest in Blessing and Eura caravans from the seventies and motorhomes from the first half of the eighties. The search for caravans from the founding years from 1969 onwards is proving difficult - but motorhomes from the first three years of production from 1983 to 1986 are also rare. After its own historic Eura motorhome from 1983 was destroyed in a fire in the showroom in 2014, the Sprendling plant is hoping for help.

Eura Mobil is planning a presentation of the two oldest leisure vehicles at this year's Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf. The vehicles will also be on display at the opening of the new Reisemobil Forum in spring 2020. Owners of historic Eura Mobil vehicles who would like to take part should send an e-mail to [email protected].

The owner of the oldest Eura Mobil will receive a week's holiday in a brand new Eura Mobil Integra Line as a thank you.

Interview with Mr and Mrs Blessing: Eura Mobil - The beginnings

Next year, Eura Mobil will be celebrating its 60th anniversary. To mark the occasion, we conducted an interview with Anneliese and Heinz Blessing about the beginnings of our company. Below is the article that appeared in the Eura Mobil customer journal in January 2019.

Heinz Blessing is the Founder of Blessing Wohnwagenbau GmbH. This nucleus of caravan production in Sprendlingen near Bad Kreuznach gave rise to today's Eura Mobil GmbH emerged. Heinz Blessing managed his company until 1969, when he retired for health reasons. His wife Anneliese also became involved in the family business early on and subsequently became a partner in the successor company Mayr KG, in which the later owner of Eura Mobil GmbH Eugen Immler was also involved. Erwin Hymer was even involved in Mayr KG as a silent partner. We asked Heinz and Anneliese Blessing about the beginnings of Eura Mobil.

Mr Blessing, what prompted you to start building caravans in 1959?

Heinz Blessing: I had always dreamed of travelling with a caravan and got into it as a hobby. I built my first caravan out of plywood in an extension behind our house. Sheet aluminium was not yet available at that time. As a qualified electrical engineer, I worked a lot with technical equipment for cinemas. When demand in the cinema market declined, I turned my hobby of building caravans into a profession, founded Blessing Wohnwagenbau GmbH in 1959 and, together with a carpenter friend, built several caravans at the same time to save costs.

What were the special features of the first Blessing caravans? What set them apart from the competition?

Heinz Blessing: At first, we only built the caravans on a plywood basis, but later we clad them with aluminium sheeting. The windows were important to us, so we installed double windows right from the start. Initially the two-part windows that were also used in the VW bus at the time, later large one-part windows. To distinguish them from the competition, the caravans had a "nose" at the front and rear to allow rainwater to run off.
Anneliese Blessing: I was responsible for the interior design. Upholstery, curtains, decoration. Everything that had to do with colours and fabrics in the interior fell under my remit. In the beginning, we both also worked on production. My husband lent a hand with the painting, for example.

Were there any difficulties that you had to overcome at the beginning?

Heinz Blessing: Firstly, we had to find suitable production space for series production. Things went so well that the production area in the extension behind our building was no longer sufficient. The extension in Friedrich-Ebert Straße also quickly became too small. This was followed by a branch in Pfaffen-Schwabenheim before the new building in Kreuznacher Straße was built in 1965.
Anneliese Blessing: And then we had to change our logo. We had placed a beautiful compass rose in the centre of a triangle and designed it with red colour accents. We and the customers liked that very much. But Mercedes Benz objected to this. The compass rose is a four-pointed star. Because of the four points of the compass. But the Mercedes star is only a three-pointed star. But that didn't help. The first logo had to go.

How did sales develop in the first few years?

Heinz Blessing: I no longer know how many caravans we sold in the first year. In the first two years, it was probably around 200 units per year. We initially found buyers mainly at trade fairs in Essen, the IAA in Frankfurt, the Caravan Salon in Geneva and Lausanne. Later, we added a network of dealers at home and abroad. In 1963, we were featured on the cover of "Quick" [1.7 million copies per week at the time, editor's note]. After that, sales skyrocketed. By the end of the 60s, the company was doing well.

How has the model range developed?

Heinz Blessing: In 1960, we had two models in our range: the Merkur with a body length of 3.00 metres and the Saturn with a body length of 3.80 metres. These were extended with different layouts to form series. By 1963, we were already offering two Merkur and three Saturn layouts. In other words, five models. By 1965 there were already eight models: the 3 metre short Mars, two Mercury and three Saturn layouts and two 4.50 metre long Jupiter layouts. With 50 employees, including carpenters, upholsterers, painters and coachbuilders, we were already building 800 caravans a year by the end of the 1960s. The caravans were transported by rail from Sprendlingen railway station to the dealers in units of 9.

In 1969, you, Mr Blessing, left the company for health reasons. Mayr KG was founded, in which you, Mrs Blessing, were a partner. Mayr KG then used the brand name Eura Caravan for the first time. Can you explain how the brand name came about?

Anneliese Blessing: Initially, we wanted to register "Europa Carvan", but this was rejected because the company would have too "little significance". The term "Euro" was already protected. So my husband Heinz had the idea of registering Eura Caravan. Since then, Eura has stood for E= recreation, U=holiday, R=travel, A=relaxation.
